Overview of Position:
The Analytical Chemist position conducts analyses and experiments.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Confer with scientists to conduct analyses of research projects, interpret test results, or develop nonstandard tests.
• Responsible for logically organizing and analyzing data, and presenting results in written or oral form to peers and supervisors.
• Ability to use technical background to deliver testing techniques balancing competing and shifting priorities
• Demonstrated proficiency in relevant chemistry and analytical testing
• Maintain all analytical instrumentation, supplies, reagents and necessary reference/standards
• Interpret results by applying knowledge of science area, propose conclusions and follow-up requirements.
• Responsible for logically organizing and analyzing data, and presenting results in written or oral form to peers and supervisors.
• Ability to use technical background to deliver the above testing techniques on a high volume of samples, balancing competing and shifting priorities
• Maintain all analytical instrumentation, supplies, reagents and necessary reference/standards
• Assist in analytical method development and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) preparation as needed.
• Assist in research studies
• Execute other duties as assigned by Manager.
• Techniques: HPLC, GC, GC/MS, LC/MS, UV/Vis, ICP/MS
• Demonstrated proficiency in relevant chemistry and analytical testing
• Strong command of analytical and physical testing methods
• Detail and results oriented.
• Must be skilled verbal communicator
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows. Excel, MS word
• Excellent knowledge in analytical instrumentation and wet chemistry.
• Candidates are expected to be self-motivated and capable of working collaboratively in a team environment with scientists
• Education and experience (required):
Minimum BS in Chemistry ( Candidates with higher degrees will also be considered.)
